Come to Me and I will give you rest…
For some this sounds like water for a thirsty soul. For others, it triggers the flooding.
Desperate desiring, coming out, separating, and surrendering leads us to the Rock. We get to let go of the old which kept us in the pain cycle and embrace the new which leads to freedom and rest. We can surrender the old pain we associated with God and lean in to Him. A mustard seed of faith is born from our desperate and open willingness.
He is a God in perfect relationship within Himself…an intimate oneness among three Persons. He has created us for an intimate relationship with Himself. We can let go of our old preconceptions and presuppositions, and trust our deepest intuition. Deep calls to deep.
We are created in His image and that imprint lies in the deepest part of our being. This image of God longs for a father, a partner, a brother, a friend… because it longs for Him. It longs for rest, peace, intimacy, joy, goodness, and love. It does not find the answer to this longing until it finds it in Him.
Its the deep pain that creates a deep desperation that motivates a deep willingness that allows a deep surrender that finds a deep well for deep intimacy with Him.
